ANA president emphasizes nurses' importance in patient care

National Nurses Week this year marks a special year for nurses, who face significant changes in medical care as the health reform law takes effect. "Today's nurses must have the strength to care for patients during times of disaster and crisis; the commitment to remain involved in continuing education throughout their careers; and the compassion to provide hands-on patient care at the bedside -- as we have done throughout the centuries," ANA President Rebecca Patton said.
