Five British teachers recently commented on Doug Lemov's "Teach Like a Champion: 49 Techniques That Put Students on a Path to College." Overall, teachers found that some of Lemov's tips had merit and that the book makes "explicit what is maybe implicit." But others said that Lemov supported a teaching style that would be considered aggressive. One teacher described his techniques as "quite old-fashioned, chalk and talk, dictated by textbooks" -- without room for differentiation.
