Budget cuts in Massachusetts could lead to stricter eligibility requirements for children needing early intervention. Any cuts may affect the ability of families to afford services for children with developmental disabilities and could increase special-education needs in Massachusetts schools, some parents and advocates say. Without the approval of legislative measures to provide some relief, advocates say many children may go without the services they need.
