Packaged goods find growing online audience

Online sales of consumer packaged goods have tripled since 2004. Successful selling efforts are those that either meet the consumer's need for convenience or his desire to buy a hard-to-find product, says new research from eMarketer. "While sticker shock is a no-no, deep discounting is rarely part of the online CPG selling model," the report says.
