Physical and verbal abuse is tied to poor mental health in women

A study of almost 94,000 women, ages 50 to 79, found that those who were physically and verbally abused scored lower for mental health and exhibited more symptoms of depression compared with those who were not abused. The study also found that women who suffered from verbal abuse alone had more depressive symptoms than those who suffered from physical abuse alone.
