Calif. districts are testing iPad application for algebra:

Four California school districts this year are testing the use of digital algebra textbooks that students can access on iPads. While the pilot program is ongoing, teachers say they already have noticed improvement in student participation and engagement. The digital textbooks also include an interactive component that gives students instant feedback -- a type of "digital teacher," said algebra teacher James Mills.
