Oregon college campus installs 12-kilowatt solar roof system

Lane Community College in Eugene, Ore., will install a 12-kilowatt solar energy system on the roof of its 90,000-square-foot academic building. The installation will consist of four different kinds of panels that will be used to teach students about solar energy. The school may use the solar panels to obtain a platinum energy-efficiency rating for its new facility.
