Liver cancer risk remains in HCV patients with SVR

A study found hepatitis C patients continue to be at risk for hepatocellular carcinoma up to eight years after achieving a sustained virological response to antiviral treatment. Researchers from Sweden's Karolinska Institute said the risk was even higher for patients who did not reach SVR or who did not receive treatment.
