India official says best teachers have high expectations

The best teachers are able to spark an interest in any topic among students, and also have high expectations for their students' achievement, according to Premchand Palety, director of Centre for Forecasting & Research in India. Research has shown that if students are treated as advanced learners, they will begin to perform at an advanced level, Palety writes.
