Union: Delta seeking early retirement for pilots

Delta's pilots union says the airline is negotiating to offer an early retirement package in an effort to resolve "what management perceives to be a current pilot staffing overage." A union spokesman says the plan would include severance pay, limited medical benefits and retiree travel benefits. In a statement, Delta said it is working with the union "to ensure we have any flexibility needed as we adjust capacity to demand."
