InterContinental Hotels Group sees 15% increase in first-quarter profit

With business travelers gradually returning to high-end hotels, InterContinental Hotels Group reported its first positive revenue performance in 18 months. The chain saw its first-quarter profit increase to $83 million, a 15% improvement from the same quarter a year ago, while revenue per available room increased 0.2% in the quarter, accelerating to 4.1% in March and 5.2% in April.
