Labor is set to regulate 401(k) guidance

The Department of Labor's Employee Benefits Security Administration is poised to begin regulating investment advice for 401(k) plans and other individual investment accounts. At issue are how to define a fiduciary and deciding who can dole out investment advice. Assistant Labor Secretary Phyllis Borzi said the agency would release best-practices guidance soon.
