Postpartum depression does not affect child growth

A mother's long-term postpartum depression does not appear to lead to growth or weight-gain troubles for her young children, Brazilian researchers said. The study suggested poor growth was more common among children of chronically depressed mothers, but the causes were linked to factors other than depression.
