Sprint turns away from Nexus One plans

In another blow to Google's smartphone ambitions, Sprint Nextel on Monday confirmed reports that it had decided not to launch the Android-powered Nexus One device, opting instead to focus on the HTC Evo, the first phone that will support its 4G WiMAX service. T-Mobile USA is the lone carrier subsidizing the handset, which also sells for $529 on AT&T's website. Sprint also rolled out the Samsung Seek, a so-called "green" device, as part of a trial recycling campaign.
