CFTC's Gensler stresses need for new derivatives rules

Gary Gensler, chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, is encouraging lawmakers to allow new rules for the derivatives market as mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act to move forward. "The Dodd-Frank Act was essential in bringing this oversight, but reform will only be effective once rules are completed," according to Gensler. The House is debating legislation that would delay implementation of derivatives rule.
