Stronger Q1 for International Consolidated Airlines

International Consolidated Airlines Group cut losses at its carrier Iberia in the first quarter, giving the company a stronger-than-projected three months. IAG, parent firm of British Airways, lost 150 million euros in the first quarter, compared with a loss of 278 million euros a year earlier. "The performance so far this year has been one that has pleased us significantly given the reduction in operating losses in the first quarter," said CEO Willie Walsh.
