Bush vows to hold firm on NCLB's high standards

During a trip to Arkansas yesterday, President George W. Bush declared that he would not relax NCLB's academic standards, despite critics who complain the targets are unrealistic. The White House provided a fact sheet that showed the administration's 2005 budget request, if approved, represents a 49% increase in education funding since fiscal year 2001.
