E.U. hopes move to end farm subsidies restarts global trade talks

The E.U. sent a letter to the 147 members of the World Trade Organization, suggesting an elimination of agricultural subsidies by wealthier nations could restart the global trade talks that broke down last year in Mexico. The U.S. officially welcomed the letter, but some European trading partners worried about further concessions to poor countries outlined in the letter.
