China: New jetmaker no threat to Airbus, Boeing

China says its new jumbo jet company will not be seriously competitive with Airbus SAS and Boeing Co. for at least two decades. "Even when China has the capacity to produce large jets, it would be able to meet only a small part of domestic demand. Boeing and Airbus will continue to claim a big chunk of the Chinese market," said Jin Zhuanglong, president of the new aerospace firm. No word on when the first planes will be built.
