Florida county extends wastewater irrigation system

With 10,000 customers already using reclaimed water for irrigation, officials in Pasco County, Fla., are spending $50 million to extend the system to newer developments in the central and eastern portions of the county. A new pump station and pipelines will bring treated wastewater to more customers by 2012, helping to ease the demand on potable water in the fast-growing county.
