China to open door for foreign firms to list in Shanghai

Chinese officials, led by Vice Premier Wang Qishan, said foreign companies will be allowed to list shares on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, although a timeline was not revealed. "China agrees to allow qualified foreign companies, including UK companies, to list on its stock exchange through issuing shares or depository receipts in accordance with relevant prudential regulations," according to a joint statement from Chinese and UK officials.
