Google to go global with keyword sales of competitors' trademarks

Google, on June 4 in about 200 countries, will begin selling the trademarks of competitors as keywords for sponsored search ads. The move follows a "global legal review" and subsequent tweaks to its ad program to ensure it complies with trademark infringement regulations in the various nations in which it's being offered. Google faces a patent-infringement lawsuit in the U.S. filed by computer repair company Rescuecom over the practice.
