IEA says authorities' mistakes caused financial crisis

The Institute of Economic Affairs conducted a comprehensive analysis of the financial crisis and ensuing economic downturn and concluded that central bankers and government officials should shoulder the blame rather than bankers, investors and other market participants. The IEA study suggests that central banks and regulators should more closely watch imbalances and determine their causes.
