Study: DASH diet may also fight heart failure

The Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension diet, which has been shown to lower high blood pressure, also appears to cut the risk of heart failure in women, researchers say. The study showed that women with the highest score on the DASH diet, which is rich in fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy products and whole grains, had up to a 50% lower rate of heart failure than women with the lowest DASH-diet scores.
