Windstream's $159 million deal: A sign of market revival?

Windstream CEO Jeff Gardner said his company's purchase of D&E Communications marked another sign that credit markets had began to open up for telecom deals. The wireline company paid $159 million in cash and stock for the Pennsylvania-based D&E in an agreement that will double Windstream's holdings in the state by providing it with an additional 165,000 access lines and 44,000 broadband customers.
