Experts recommend new FDA standards for food, drugs, supplements

A panel of health experts suggested that the FDA reconsider the use of biomarkers, such as cholesterol and blood-sugar levels, to evaluate drug products. The federal advisory panel also said the FDA should apply the same stringent standards it uses for drugs when reviewing food and supplements.
