Survey shows most Americans prefer shelter animals over store pets

A survey by Associated Press-Petside.com suggested that more than 50% of respondents would get their next pet from a shelter, which is almost seven times higher than those who would opt to buy from a store. The survey also found that more than four in 10 respondents believe pets from a store may have hidden psychological or medical issues.
