Taiwan business council report pushes for release of F-16 fighter jets

The Washington-based U.S.-Taiwan Business Council has issued a report urging the release of 66 F-16C/D Block 50/52 fighter jets in order to help the country prepare for a growing threat from China. The fighters have been on hold by the U.S. since a request was made in 2006, and the council says that with the last F-16s slated for delivery by the end of 2013, its window of availability is closing.
