NPD study finds Microsoft, gaming industry were hot in April

A study by NPD Group found that Microsoft's Xbox 360 gaming console sold 297,000 units last month, a 60% improvement compared with the year-ago period. Overall, sales of consoles, software and peripherals for gaming were $961.2 million, a 20% increase over the $802.4 million generated during the same time frame in 2010, NPD said.
