Google entices developers with game-socializing platform

Google is introducing a service called Google Play Games in an effort to attract game developers by providing the more social environment with "multiplayer functionality, leaderboards, achievements, and cloud game saves," Dean Takahashi writes. In addition, IMS Research is predicting the market for wearable computer devices such as Google Glass could reach $6 billion in three years. Separately, at Google's developers conference, Google I/O is expected to feature 34 Android sessions and code labs dedicated to design, development and distribution. "Not everyone can come to San Francisco to join us in person, so we'll be streaming a selection of the best content as part of Google Developers Live," Reto Meier, Android developer relations tech lead, wrote in a post.
