Maine chooses school technology vendor

Maine, which is leading a multistate purchase of educational technology and services, has chosen Hewlett-Packard as its preferred contractor for school technology, education reporter Sean Cavanagh writes. However, officials say the decision will not force its partners, Hawaii and Vermont, into a deal, and local districts also will be able to choose from other vendors.
