Senators begin work on immigration amendments

Amendments to an immigration bill relating to high-skilled foreign workers will be considered this week. Separately, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., who chairs the House Oversight Committee, reportedly will prepare a bill to modify immigration rules. Issa's expected role drew praise from some tech firms. "Issa has been a friend of the high-tech community, especially to the Internet companies in California, so his involvement is certainly welcome as he gets the industry and he gets the issue," a tech lobbyist said.
