Report: Community-based outreach boosts HBV testing, care

CDC researchers said community outreach programs may help increase screening and treatment for patients with hepatitis B. The study in Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report showed positive results of interventions in three CDC-supported programs in New York City, Minneapolis-St. Paul and San Diego, and researchers said patient navigators also may help increase the number of people who use referrals and receive recommended care.
