University of Alaska drone test site goes live

The University of Alaska drone test site is up and running, and researchers have begun flying a Aeryon Scout to monitor and record population numbers in wildlife. "Alaska has a history of innovation in manned aviation, and now they are bringing that pioneering spirit into the unmanned aircraft arena as well," U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx said in the Federal Aviation Administration's announcement of the test site's launch.
