New York City's makeup reading test marred by printing errors

Critics of Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg's plan to end social promotion for third-graders say recent match-up errors between a reading makeup exam's test booklet and the answer sheet illustrate the "nonsense" of using a single exam for high-stakes purposes. The City's Education Department said they will grade the exams and perform statistical analyses to ensure the results are valid.
