Building costs catch nuclear energy resurgence off-guard

A new generation of nuclear power plants is facing skyrocketing increases to estimated costs. With oil prices rising and polluting coal-fired energy plants falling out of favor, nuclear plants have re-emerged as an important alternative, but with surging costs for building materials including cement, steel and copper, estimated costs for some plants have quadrupled.
