California public universities mull another tuition hike

The University of California and California State University systems are considering raising state fees for the sixth time in seven years, which would more than double what the schools' students were paying in 2001. "UC seems to be only for the wealthy," remarked Lisa Chen, 20, a student at the University of California-San Diego. "People are dropping out who can't afford it and it's homogenizing our education."
