Deere retirees threaten class-action suit over pensions

More than 2,000 John Deere retirees have formed an organization and raised $270,000 to prepare for a possible lawsuit over changes to the company's pension plan. Deere says the new plan is similar to the old one, and most retirees willingly signed on. But the 2,200 members of the Flex Retirees Organization insist their health benefits under the new plan are not equivalent to what they had while working at Deere, and they say they are ready to file a class-action suit, if necessary.
