Urban planning goes online in Canadian capital

Starting today, engineers, planners and developers will have online access to every building application -- complete with supporting documents -- in the City of Ottawa. "We're demystifying urban planning," says Peter Hume, chairman of the city's planning and environment committee. A search engine will help interested parties find specific projects, and citizens can leave comments for planners online.
