Analysis: Hong Kong maths content is rigorous

A recent analysis by the American Institutes for Research of maths content shows that Hong Kong primary-school pupils are exposed to more rigorous maths content than pupils in the highest-ranking American state, Massachusetts. Researchers found that tests in Hong Kong ask a broader range of maths questions that require detailed answers, not just a selection from multiple choices.
