FDA approves MRI-guided laser technology from Monteris

The FDA has granted 510(k) clearance to Monteris Medical's AutoLITT System, an MRI-guided laser device used for treating hard-to-treat brain tumors. The device, which was developed at the Cleveland Clinic, enables surgeons to adjust the laser intensity as they heat the glioblastoma multiforme tumors until they coagulate and can be removed.
