Special shops in Eastern Europe focus on poorest consumers

Serbia, Slovenia and other countries are launching "SOS" stores, which are open only to those officially registered as poor. "We see this effort as a new retail concept," Trade Minister Slobodan Milosavljevic said. "The gauntlet has been thrown to other retailers, and we can already see somewhat cheaper food in other markets."
