Ariz. district is struggling with new approaches to gifted learning

New methods for teaching gifted students in one Arizona district are drawing concerns from some parents and educators over the rapid pace of the changes, as well as the effectiveness of the approaches. The Gilbert school district this school year began using the Accelerated Learning Program, which "clusters" students identified as gifted within a classroom, in combination with some specialized classes and programs. District officials said recent schedule changes should allow educators more time to train and collaborate on the methods for the next school year.
