HTML 5, iAd offer mobile alternatives to branded apps

What with the current craze for mobile applications, digital ad execs are stepping back and weighing the pros and cons of apps and other mobile advertising platforms, including Apple's iAd and HTML 5-based ads. "An app isn't going to be suitable for every movie, so we explore other possibilities such as app sponsorships and takeovers. That way you know the audience is already there, and it risks less for the client," said mec:interaction's Courtney Renaud, who handles the Paramount Pictures mobile account.
