Industry urged to counter "fear factor" with new-media outreach

The chemical industry must do a better job of combating public mistrust and misunderstanding of its practices by reaching out directly to the public and to government, Bayer CEO Greg Babe said at an annual industry gathering in Pittsburgh. "If we truly want to be relevant today, we need to be communicating on new media," Bayer said. "We have to address the public fear factor head-on."
