Recession sparks surge in CSR reports

In the wake of the financial crisis, companies are growing more interested in corporate social responsibility as a way to rebuild trust, writes SmartBrief on Sustainability lead editor Jennifer Hicks. Each year, a fifth of all CSR reports are coming from companies that have not previously published sustainability reports, Hicks notes. "This can only be good news for transparency and for those interested in sustainable business," she adds.
