Report: Big banks reduced small-business lending in 2008, 2009:

Small-business loan portfolios were cut by 9% by big Wall Street banks between 2008 and 2009, according to a Congressional Oversight Panel report. The rate was double the pace that overall lending was reduced. "Big banks pulled back on everyone, but they pulled back harder on small businesses," said Elizabeth Warren, the panel's chairwoman.
