Report finds 10% drop in teen admissions for substance abuse

Hospital admissions for substance abuse treatment among adolescents ages 12 to 17 fell 10% from 2002 to 2008, according to a report from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Almost 80% of the admissions involved marijuana as a primary or secondary substance, the survey found.
