Senate approves limits on credit card transaction fees

The Senate passed an amendment to the financial-reform bill that would limit debit and credit card swipe fees that credit card companies charge merchants. In a 2008 NFIB survey, nearly 30% of small-business owners said they would charge customers a credit card surcharge if they could.
