Shell secures court's approval to proceed with Alaskan drilling program

A federal appeals court sided with Shell Oil in a lawsuit disputing approval of the company's plans to drill three wells in the Chukchi and Beaufort seas off of Alaska's coast this year. The court said the Minerals Management Service properly considered the environmental effects before it cleared Shell's project.
